Court lifts arrest warrant against CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro

High Court Judge Isaac Lenaola on Thursday lifted the arrest warrant he had issued against CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro for failing to obey a court order and delivering a probe report within set timelines.

Justice Lenaola instead sternly warned Muhoro against ignoring court direction and ordered him to observe the rule of law in future or risk drastic action being taken against him.

The judge was addressing Muhoro’s representative Wanyonyi Wanjala, a CID officer who was sent to present the investigation report after Lenaola lifted the arrest warrant against the CID boss.

The warrant had been issued after Muhoro failed to produce a report on investigations CID had conducted into the employment contract of Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company Managing director.

Activist Okiya Omtata had alleged in court the contract paper was a forgery and the CID proved the claims when a copy was produced in court, with the judge ordering the original document be examined for authenticity and produced in court.

The case is now set for hearing on March 31, 2016.
