The Migori High Court has nullified the election of Boaz Okoth and George Omamba as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the County Assembly respectively.
Justice Hillary Chemitei also ordered a fresh election be conducted within 14 days under the supervision of the Migori Deputy registrar.
Kerario Marwa, who was a contender in the Migori speaker seat filled the petition claiming the election of the Speaker was marred by violence.
Court heard that the second round of the election of the Speaker was interrupted and therefore the winner could not be established.
Other claims presented before court were that the election of Deputy Speaker was presided over by a Speaker whose victory was in question.
The petitioner’s prayers that he be declared the winner and be sworn in were not granted.
