Court orders deportation of four Chinese caught caning Kenyan worker

The deportation of four Chinese Nationals caught on video caning a Kenyan worker is currently underway after a Nairobi court ordered that the miscellaneous application be closed and the process of deportation started immediately.

An order for their deportation had previously been halted by the High Court after the four suspects filed an application challenging the order.

In a consecutive hearing, the prosecution told the Milimani Court that the deportation had been delayed as they sought to reach the complainant.

On Tuesday, the Lawyer representing the four Chinese nationals said that his clients were ready to be deported back to their home country.

Abdulhakim Abdullahi said that his clients had suffered and were ready to go back to China as ordered by the state.

The four; Deng Hailan, Chang Yueping ,Ou Qiang and Yu Ling filed an application challenging the deportation order which had been suspended by the high court.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI ) in an affidavit said the four had been involved in degrading and violation of fundamental rights thus breaching their condition of stay.

“The investigations against the suspects is ongoing and critical since we are still pursuing the employer /owner of the hotel who has since gone into hiding having learnt of the arrest of the suspects.” Read the affidavit.

Through Officer Noah Kiplangat, Kinoti had said that that application was an abuse of the court process intended to defeat justice and requested the court to dismiss it.
