Court orders vote recount in petition against Senator Linturi

The High Court in Meru has ordered a recount and scrutiny of votes in a case challenging the election of Senator Mithika Linturi in the August 2017 General Election.

Judge Ann Ong’ijo ordered a recount of votes in all polling stations in Central Imenti constituency and several other polling stations in Meru County.

Mr. Imanyara’s lawyers had filed an application for the recount of votes claiming there were irregularities in all polling stations in the county.

Mugambi was vying for the seat on a Party of National Unity (PNU) ticket.
