Court Rejects LSK’s Plea To Halt Anglo Leasing Payments

The judiciary has declined a prayer in a petition by the Law Society of Kenya seeking to temporarily bar the government from settling a 1.4 billion shilling debt owed to two companies linked to the Anglo–Leasing contracts. Justice David Majanja refused to grant LSK the prayer claiming it would amount to interference with oversight role of parliament of checking government’s financial expenditure.
