Court suspends Aboud Rogo’s widow bond

The widow of slain radical Muslim cleric Sheikh Aboud Rogo, Hania Said Sagar, and three other women facing terror related charges will remain in custody after High Court suspended their release on bond.

Mombasa principal magistrate Diana Mochache had freed Ms Sagar on Sh1 million bond but was on Friday served with a High Court order suspending her bond and the pre-trial bond reports the court had demanded before considering releasing the three other suspects.

State Counsel Alexander Muteti filed an application at Mombasa High Court opposing release of Ms Sagar and her three co-accused:  Ms Luul Ali Tahlil, Nasteho Ali Tahlil and Zamzam Abdi Abdullah.

Rogo’s widow co-accused are facing charges for allegedly having links with the three slain terror suspects who attacked Mombasa Central Police Station last month.

However, the trial of the four suspects will continue and the case will be mentioned on October 17.
