Court threatens to cancel Mugo wa Wairimus bail

Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi has ordered fake doctor Mugo Wa Wairimu to appear in court on Wednesday June 6, 2018 failure to which the court will cancel his bail.

This is after Mugo failed to appear in court on Tuesday for the hearing of a case in which he is accused of sedating and raping a female patient, but instead sent his lawyers.

Mugo’s lawyers told the court that their client was involved in a road accident on May 26 and had been put on bed rest.

“Let the accused avail himself without fail on June 6. Summons are also issued to the surety in this matter. If he does not come, I will cancel the bail, ” Magistrate Andayi ruled.

The court further directed the accused to avail medical documents when he appears in court next week.

The fake doctor faces charges of rape, administering a sedative to a woman and operating unregistered clinics.

He was arrested on September 10, 2015 at Gitungo Hotel in Limuru, Kiambu County, in the wake of the rape allegation and is out on a surety bond of Ksh.5 million.
