Court To Decide On Fate Of Security Laws Case

CORD which wants implementation of the new laws suspended moved to court last week.

Justice Isaac Lenaola will on Monday give directions on the case filed by CORD leaders.

The two sides of political divide CORD and Jubilee are divided over the new laws with both sides arguing for and against them.

A section of CORD leaders have maintained that they will go back to the public if the courts fail to stop the new laws

The five 5 ODM MPs are David Ochieng’, Gideon Ochanda, Christine Ombaka, Nicholas Gumbo and nominated MP Dr. Oburu Oginga.

ODM MPs say that Kenyan citizens must have the final say on the kind of laws they want.

They said that matters of security should not be a reserve for the ruling party.

Speaking in Rarieda constituency where they attended an end year prayer gathering, the ODM legislators said that they will not allow implantation of retrogressive laws in this country.

They challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to reflect and focus towards taking this country in the right direction beginning next year 2015 now that the ICC cases are behind him.

CORD coalition is opposed to the security laws amendment Act claiming they are oppressive and retrogressive.
