Court upholds Rosa Buyu’s election as Kisumu Woman Rep

The High Court in Kisumu has upheld the election of Rosa Buyu as Kisumu County Woman Representative.

In her ruling, Presiding judge Justice Tripsisa Cherere dismissed the petition filed by Grace Akumu on grounds that it lacks merit.

In her petition, Akumu who vied on a Citizen Convention Party ticket had cited massive irregularities in last year’s August 8 polls.

The court had also struck off her application to order fresh scrutiny and recount of votes in an initial judgment.
