COVID-19 in Kenya: 120 more people test positive, total rises to 6,190

Health CAS Rashid Aman has announced 120 new cases of COVID-19 in Kenya bringing the total to 6,190.

The patients are from a sample size of 2,221 that was tested in the last 24 hours.

“The bulk is still Nairobi and Mombasa and Busia is third due to the border points. It’s only a matter of time before all counties report cases,” he said on Monday.

According to Dr. Aman, 115 of the new positive cases are Kenyans while five are foreigners.

Nairobi has 67 cases, Mombasa 17, Kajiado 9, Machakos 9, Kiambu 8, Uasin Gishu 6, Nakuru 2 and Narok 2.

They are 84 males and 36 females.

One more person succumbed to COVID-19 in Kenya raising the death toll to 144.

“This was a 64 year old patient from Mombasa who was diabetic,” Dr. Aman said.

The Health CAS also noted that 42 people have been discharged; total recoveries now stands at 2,013.
