COVID-19: Kenya confirms 92 new cases, 165 recoveries and 3 deaths

The Ministry of Health on Wednesday announced that 92 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Kenya from 2,985 samples tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 36,393.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, addressing the daily coronavirus briefings at Afya House in Nairobi, said all the cases are Kenyans except 4 foreigners.

The 92 include 64 males and 28 females, with the youngest being two years old and the oldest 75.

The cases were distributed across counties as follows: Nairobi (25), Mombasa (20), Nakuru (8), Garissa (7), Uasin Gishu (6), Kisumu (5), Turkana (4), Kiambu (4), Kakamega (3), Machakos (2), Kajiado (2), Busia (2), Nyeri (1), Kilifi (1), Taita Taveta (1), and Tana River (1).

Dr. Mwangangi also revealed that 165 people recovered from the disease, 60 of them from the Home Based Care program and 105 discharged from hospitals, taking the tally of recoveries to 23,529.

Three patients however succumbed to the disease hence the fatalities now stand at 637.
