Cradle to sue IG, DPP over naked teens’ images taken by police
The Inspector General of Police and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) could soon find themselves in court over indecent pictures that police officers took of teenagers last week.
A children’s rights organization, Cradle, has said that it will sue the IG amd DPP over pictures that officers took when they arrested a group of high school students Karatina-Nairobi road.
The high school students were allegedly caught smoking bhang and engaging in public sex in a as they traveled to Nairobi after schools closed.
Cradle legal official Prudence Mutiso says that they want action taken against the police officers who forced the students to strip naked before taking their pictures which were later circulated on social media.
Early this month, police intercepted a bus in which was transporting a group of 45 students from different schools .
Police reports claimed that the students were drunk, engaging in public sex and had smoked bhang in the bus.
