CS Kagwe addresses claims that his son Kahu$h was spotted at a house party

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Sunday addressed rumours that his son had been spotted partying away in reckless abandon and in disregard of the Ministry of Health’s guidelines on COVID-19.

The undated photo that was shared widely on Twitter showed a man who looked like Kahu$h, the CS’s son,  posing for photos with three other people who were cradling drinks on their hands.

In the background, several other people could be seen in what looked like a party. A bottle of a blended scotch whisky- Ballantines- lay close by.

Addressing the nation from Kisumu, CS Kagwe explained that his son is of legal age and therefore not answerwable to him.

“On the issue of video footage showing my son at a party, I do not have a son under 18 in my house, meaning they are adults, you can follow them and ask them,”he said.

At the same time, CS Kagwe said he was not planning to resign despite calls from a section of Kenyans among them Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa.

“The issue of people asking me to resign is pipe dream. They can continue to dream on,” he added.

He was talking about Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (Kemsa) woes after claims that several people had pocketed billions from the purchase of COVID-19 supplies.

The ongoing investigations into the matter have it that the Authority procured N95 (1860) masks at Ksh1,300 against the market price of Ksh700 per mask.

In July, Kemsa boss John Manjari Kemsa appeared before the Senate Health Committee on claims the authority had procured Personal Protective Equipment at Ksh. 9,000 against the Ksh.4,500 market price.
