CS Kariuki calls on youth, women to apply for gov’t tenders
The government has challenged youth, women and persons with disabilities to make good use of the 30 percent tenders and other funds set aside for them so to improve their livelihoods.
Speaking during an inspection tour of the newly opened Huduma Center at Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, Public Service, Gender and Youth Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki expressed her concern over the failure by the groups to apply for the funds and provision of other services.
“There is a perception that the process is very lengthy and that is difficult to access the opportunities, we receive a lot of negative feedback where effort has been made. I am here to encourage the youth, women and persons with disabilities to get out there and make use of this initiative,” she said.
Kariuki, however, noted that the government is committed to simplifying the process and creating other avenues that will increase the uptake of such initiatives by the target groups.
