CS Matiangi tours Bungoma as KCSE exams enter homestretch

Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i on Thursday toured the Bungoma County education headquarters to witness the opening of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams as the national exams enter the homestretch.

Addressing the principals before the container with the exam papers was opened, Dr Matiang’i assured that the commitment that has been seen during the examination will be applied during marking so that students get credible results.

“I have confidence in the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and I assure you that mechanisms have been put in place to ensure the results are credible,” he said

He assured that the effort by exam administrators to wake up at 5am, and that of the markers will not be in vain, adding that the exam would not be tampered with.

The CS noted that the new system of administering exams was successful, saying that they are 90 per cent done with examinations and so far the process has been credible.

He commended principals and security officers for their commitment during the examination process.
