CS Wamalwa wants Bungoma chaos perpetrators arrested

Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa, has called upon IEBC and the police to take immediate action on the perpetrators of Friday’s chaos witnessed in Bungoma County between Jubilee Party and NASA supporters.

While addressing a rally at Sibanga Primary School in Cherangany Sub-County, Wamalwa said it is high time police and IEBC take action to avert what was witnessed during the 2007/08 post poll violence, calling upon youth not to be misled by politicians to participate in chaos.

This comes just a day after a woman died after being reportedly hit by a bullet while two others seriously wounded as police quelled the chaos that rocked Bungoma County for hours after supporters of Governor Ken Lusaka clashed with those of his rival, Alfred Khangati.

A bodyguard attached to Lusaka, who is alleged to have fired the killer shot, has reportedly been arrested.

Mr Wamalwa, who was accompanied by Women Representative, Janet Nangabo, and former Cabinet Ministers, Dr Noah Wekesa and Musikali Kombo, traversed the area to drum up support for President Uhuru’s Kenyatta’s re-election in the August 8 polls.
