Dadaab Legislator Opposes Order On Refugees
The legislator said the directive was a violation of the rights of refugees living in the country
Dahiye was speaking after issuing a 15 million shillings bursary from the local Constituency Development Fund.
He defended the refugees saying there are laws that guide refugees living in the country to acquire alien cards
The legislator added that the Westgate Report has not shown that the attack in September last year was planned at the refugees' camps
Dahiye therefore said there was justifiable reason to return them to the camps.
He spoke after Interior Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku ordered refugees in the urban centres to return to Dadaab and Kakuma refugee camps.
Ole Lenku also asked Kenyans to report any refugees living in major towns.
