The late Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru will be buried on Saturday, November 18, 2017, the government has said.
Addressing the media on Wednesday morning, ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru, who is the chairman of the national burial committee, said Dr. Gakuru will be accorded a State funeral.
The arrangements for the governor’s burial are being handled by three committees; at the national, county and family levels.
Nyeri Deputy Governor Mutahi Kahiga and Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu will head the county committee while CS Mucheru will lead the national committee assisted by a representative from the Council of Governors.
Dr. Gakuru perished in a grisly road accident that occurred on Tuesday morning in Kabati on the Thika-Kenol highway.
