  • The Hope Community Group visited girls from four different schools in remote parts of Mwingi East Sub County in Kitui.
  • They issued the girls with sanitary towels in a bid to prevent the girls' absence from school during their menstrual periods.
  • The Hope Community Group comprises of seven women who came together with the aim of reaching out to girls in remote villages across the country, interact with them and enlighten them on the importance of education.

A group of women known as the Hope Community Group on Wednesday visited girls from schools in remote parts of Mwingi East Sub County in Kitui.

The women visited Kavoko Primary, Kariokor Primary and Kalitini Primary and Secondary Schools.

They issued sanitary towels to the girls in a bid to reduce absenteeism from school during their menstrual period.

The Hope Community Group was formed early this year.

It comprises of seven women who came together with the aim of reaching out to girls in remote villages across the country, interact with them and enlighten them on the importance of education.

Director Martha Lakisa welcomed any well wishers who want to extend a helping hand to the group’s initiative.
