DCI detectives arrest 21-year-old suspect who knifed lover to death in Umoja
Detectives from the DCI have arrested a 21-year-old Leonard Kamanga Kamau accused of killing his lover in Umoja One earlier in the year.
Through a statement posted on Twitter, the DCI said the suspect was arrested after resurfacing in Narobi from his Mombasa hideout.
Kamau is accused of killing a 25-year-old woman who was working as a house help in Umoja.
Neighbors told detectives that on the fateful day, the woman was found dead, lying in a pool of her own blood.
Her throat had been slit with a kitchen knife.
Detectives and forensic experts alerted to the matter then pursued the suspect to Mombasa where he managed to escape.
He resurfaced in Nairobi on August 7 with detectives launching an early morning operation on Saturday, arresting him in the process.
He has been placed in lawful custody awaiting his arraignment in court.
