Abubakar Mohamed wanted in the US for ivory offenses arrested in Mombasa
Detectives from the DCI have arrested Abubakar Mansur Mohamed who is wanted in the United States for ivory related offenses.
Mohamed who is believed to have been on the run arrived in Mombasa aboard a chartered flight from Yemen on Wednesday.
Abubakar Mohamed has been placed under lawful custody awaiting further processing.
The 60-year-old suspect was among two others who were still at large, facing charges of conspiracy to sell rhino horns and elephant ivory valued at Ksh 74 million.
Another suspect, Abdi Hussein Ahmed is yet to be arrested as the noose on several suspects believed to be behind narcortics trade and ivory tightens.
