DCI finally arrests suspect wanted over Ksh.300 million fake gold scam

Detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested a wanted suspect accused of involvement in a Ksh.300 million fake gold scam.

In a statement issued on Monday, the DCI said Dillon Kibet was arrested following information availed by members of the public.

“We wish to thank members of the public for availing information that has led to the arrest of Mr Dillon Kibet who was wanted in connection with a 3,000,000 USD Fake Gold Scam,” said the DCI.

Kibet is alleged to have colluded with one Rose Omamo and several others to defraud a foreigner of Ksh.300 million through a fake gold syndicate.

A manhunt for the two and their accomplices began in February this year after a warrant of arrest was issued by a Milimani court.

The other suspects are yet to be arrested.

“We continue to appeal for information that will lead to the arrest of his accomplice Rose  Omamo Adhiambo,” added the DCI.

Kibet is expected to be arraigned as tracing for his co-accused continues.
