DCI pounces on Victor Odhiambo who brutally attacked a widow in 2018, gouging out her eye

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have arrested one Victor Odhiambo who was wanted for the offense of Grievous Harm contrary to section 234 of the Penal Code.

In a statement on Twitter, the DCI said Odhiambo has been on the run for the past one year after he was arraigned and released sometime in 2019.

He was re-arrested in Homa Bay on Wednesday by detectives from Mombasa who had been trailing him.

In December 2019, Odhiambo was arrested in Kayole after he attacked a woman, gouging out her eye in the process.

He was accused of attacking Stella Mwende, a widow who had rejected his romantic overtures.

Mwende had told detectives that the suspect attacked her at her home, slashing her on the face and gouging our her eye.

She also sustained deep cuts on her shoulder and right hand while fending off the voracious attacker.

The suspect had been making advances on the mother of two shortly after he started frequenting her open-air eatery.
