DCI sends homicide squad to Migori over death of Sharon Otieno

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has sent a homicide squad to Migori County to probe the death of Sharon Otieno.

The body of the 26-year-old university student was discovered on Wednesday morning in Kodera Forest, Migori County.

According to DCI George Kinoti, no one will be spared as his team investigates who or what caused the death of Sharon Otieno.

Earlier, the Government Spokesman Eric Kiraithe said the State would investigate the case expeditiously.

According to him, the abduction of Nation journalist Barack Otieno was an attempted murder.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has since denied claims linking him to the university student.

His personal assistant Michael Oyamo was arrested on Tuesday as the family insists that they have evidence linking him and his boss to the death of the student.

Kisumu County Woman Rep Rosa Buyu has called for the arrest and prosecution of the Migori Governor following the claims.
