Deputy CJ Mwilus driver shot on Ngong road

Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu’s driver was on Tuesday shot and injured by unknown gunmen on Ngong Road in Nairobi.

The incident that happened on Tuesday evening at around 7.00 pm outside Marsabit Plaza.

Confirming the incident, Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i  said the driver, identified as Police Constable Titus Musyoka, was attacked by two armed men at around 7.00 pm outside plaza.

The  attackers robbed him off his gun; a  jerico pistol, with 15 rounds of ammunition before escaping on a motorbike.

“We have confirmed that the driver was shot  on Ngong Road when he went to pick up something for the Deputy Chief Justice who was not with him at that time.Investigations have commenced immediately and we want to actively find out what happened and get to the bottom of this matter,” Dr.Matiang’i said.

Musyoka was shot in the shoulder while purchasing flowers for Justice Mwilu.

Matiang’i said that the driver who was rushed to Nairobi Women’s hospital is in stable condition saying “We had an opportunity to speak to  the medical staff at the hospital,the officer is undergoing treatment and is in stable condition,”
