Death strikes Kajembe home for fourth time as daughter passes on

Aisha Langoni, the daughter of the late Ramadhan Kajembe has died two weeks after her father succumbed to COVID-19.

She died at the Pandya Memorial Hospital in Mombasa on Wednesday night.

“I am deeply saddened to learn about the death of Langoni Kajembe, daughter to the late Ramadhan Seif Kajembe. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of sorrow and may the Almighty give them strength and courage to bear the tragic loss,” Tourism CS Najib Balala said.

She had been admitted to hospital on August 7 after she collapsed on learning about her father’s demise.

According to the Daily Nation, Aisha was the first born of the late politician’s daughters and had had a close relationship with him.

The local daily further notes that the ex-Changamwe MP had even named one of his companies after her.

“When she received news of passing of her father she collapsed and she had since then been at the hospital. She was not even able to attend her dad’s burial. Unfortunately, today, death came for her,” a friend of the family said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

Two weeks before Kajembe’s death, the first wife Aziza who had been admitted at Mombasa Hospital succumbed to an undisclosed illness.

She was buried the same day at 3pm at the family cemetery in Kwa Shee, Jomvu constituency.

Kajembe was unable to attend the funeral.

The death came four months after Kajembe’s second wife Zaharia had passed on.
