Death toll in Marsabit attack rises to four
A second attack at Loiyangalani area in Marsabit County has left one person dead bringing the death toll to four in just two days.
According to Marsabit Deputy Police Commander, Michael Muchiri, the Friday night attack occurred at Kiwanja area which is 15 kilometres from Mt Kulal where three others were killed Thursday morning.
Muchiri said those killed are three men and one woman.
He added security has been beefed up in the area, and officers are working to arrest those involved.
The attack in Loiyangalani comes just two months after a night attack in the area left seven children dead, others injured and several goats stolen.
In the past, Marsabit Senator Godana Hargura said that the area has been bearing a brunt of inter-clan conflict in Baragoi. He called on security to be beefed up in the area.
Hargura had stated that Turkana and Samburu residents fleeing conflict in their areas have ended up in Loiyangalani where they have allegedly caused havoc.
