Decomposed body discovered in Embu University grounds

Police in Embu have launched investigations into the death of a 16-year-old girl whose decomposed body was discovered in a bush within Embu University grounds.

According to Embu west OCPD Francis Sang, the decomposed body was discovered by students of Embu Medical Training College who were participating in a sports day at the Embu University College.

Sang said the students alerted police who visited the scene and found the body.

The police boss added that the body is believed to have been lying there for a number of days as it had decomposed, with the flesh evidently having fallen off.

Sang now says that the body is yet to be identified, adding that the identification process will be difficult due to the state of the body.

Sang further called upon anyone or any family who may have lost a loved one within that age group to visit the Embu police station in a bid to identify the deceased.

The body has been moved to Embu level five hospital mortuary with investigations now underway.
