Degodia clans endorses former Minister for Wajir Governor

Degodia clan has now beaten a hasty retreat and switched their endorsement from Wajir Governor, Ahmed Abdullahi, to former Cabinet Minister, Mahmoud Mohamed, to be next area Governor.

The clan now says former Minister of State in the Office of the President will get their full backing and not Abdullahi, whom they accuse of failing them in terms of leadership.

They were speaking in Nairobi led by Wajir County Assembly Speaker, Bishar Omar, and Eldas Member of Parliament, Adan Keynan, where they say they have opted to switch loyalty after losing trust in Abdullahi’s leadership.

Wajir Deputy Governor, Abdi Hafith, has backed the resolution of the clan, accusing his boss of failing to foster cohesiveness in the county and executing county projects and operations minus consultations.

This comes over a month after 400 Degodia clan elders endorsed Governor Abdullahi’s re-election bid, after three representatives from each of the 10 Degodia sub-clans converged in Wajir town.
