Agribusiness investors from Argentina to visit Kenya next week

A delegation of investors from Argentina will be visiting Kenya and Uganda from next week to explore investment opportunities in the East Africa region.

The delegation, comprising 14 investors and experts in agribusiness,  will jet into Nairobi on July 4th and will be in the region for two weeks.

“The experts will study the value chain in agribusiness and also scout investment opportunities in Kenya and Uganda,” said Zaynah Khanbhai, the chief executive officer of Latin America, Caribbean and Africa (LAC Africa) Ltd, which has organized the trip.

In Kenya, the investors will hold discussions with local businessmen and trade organizations and also visit farms and factories in Nairobi, Thika, Uasin Gishu, Nakuru and Trans Nzoia.

They will also tour the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Said Khanbhai: “It is a wonderful opportunity for agricultural entrepreneurs in Kenya and Uganda to meet and explore possible investment deals with their Argentine counterparts.”

While in Nairobi, the investors will meet faculty members of the Strathmore Business School, officials of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and also hold talks with the Kenya Agribusiness and Agro Industry Alliance as well as visit Bidco Africa.

They will later leave for Uganda. The trip is organized as part of preparations for the 2nd LAC Africa Business Summit to be held in Rosario, Argentina between October 3 and 5, 2017.

The first LAC Business Summit was held in November 2016 in Nairobi and was officially declared a success by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
