Deputy Governors driver, 2 AP officers charged with murder

Two administration police officers and a driver of Homa Bay County Deputy Governor Hamilton Orata, who were charged with murder, have been released on a bond of Ksh.500,000 with one surety each.

The two police officers; Fredrick Kimanzi and Lawi Gitari and a driver, Alex Onyango Arot were arrested last week in connection with the murder of Abdinasir Ahmed.

The police officers were deployed as security guards at the deputy governor’s home in Ndhiwa constituency.

The alleged incident occurred on April 27 and 28 this year at restaurant in Ndhiwa Town.

The three denied the charges before Homa Bay High Court judge Justice Joseph Karanja.

The case will be heard on November 4, 2019.
