Detectives escort Sarah Cohen to collect personal effects from Kitisuru home

Sarah Wairimu Cohen, the embattled wife of murdered Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen, was on Monday escorted to her matrimonial home in Kitisuru to collect her personal effects.

Sarah was accompanied by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), lawyers Cliff Ombeta and Danstan Omari who is representing the deceased’s family in the matter.

Speaking to the press, Ombeta said Sarah would be allowed to pick “nothing else…not even a knife…not even a spoon…not even salt…not even wine.”

Ombeta added that two officers were also dispatched to the scene with cameras for the purpose of covering all of Sarah’s movements to ensure she adheres to conditions provided by the court.

The High Court in Nairobi on January 16 granted Sarah access to the home but under strict supervision, further that she could only collect her clothes, shoes, handbags, and grooming tools.

The court also directed that collection of the items should be restricted only to the rooms that Sarah occupied prior to her arrest.

The court further ruled that it has no jurisdiction to allow her re-occupy the Kitisuru home that is currently being guarded by police.

In an application filed in October last year, Sarah Cohen claimed that she was spending a lot of money buying new clothes as she sought the court’s permission to access her Kitisuru home.
