Digital Migration Ruling Postponed

The verdict on the case challenging the digital migration was to be delivered today, Friday, but the court of appeal will now deliver the ruling on the 28th of this month.

Three main media houses – the standard group, nation media group and royal media services are challenging a decision of the high court allowing the migration from analogue to digital to proceed without a number of technical and legal issues having been resolved.

They say though they are not opposed to the migration, the process should not be completed before they have been allocated a digital signal distribution licence.

A survey conducted last week by Ipsos Synovate indicated that majority of city residents are not ready for the digital migration.
