Dismissed KDF officer, cop in court over abductions

An administration police officer, a former KDF officer and two other suspects have been arrested  and charged for allegedly engaging in abductions and drug trafficking in the Coast region.
Timothy Nganyi, an AP officer attached to Mvita AP Post and dismissed KDF officer Nasri Ochieng together with a Ms Rosemary Ngina and a Mr Khamis Juma are accused of abducting Abdalla Rashid within Likoni area before demanding a Ksh 70,000 ransom from his parents and relatives on Wednesday.
The suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges when they appeared before Mombasa Chief Magistrate Julius Nangea and were freed on a Ksh 1 million bond each pending hearing of the case.
According to records, the four had the intention of  secretly and wrongfully confining Rashid in order to extort money from his parents and relatives.
They were also charged for being in possession of sachets of heroine and 10 rolls of bhang.
