DNA twist for deputy headteacher accused of rape in Nyando

A court in Ahero has ordered a DNA test to determine if a deputy headteacher, accused of rape in Nyando, fathered the baby of one of his pupils.

Dan Odhiambo Osok is accused of defiling four girls from Aralombo Primary School in Kapiyo Sub -location, Kadibo, Nyando Sub County.

The deputy head teacher was arrested on July 1, 2019.

Osok is alleged to have defiled the pupils during a recent sports event in Kajulu area in Kisumu East.

He was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Patrick Olengo at Ahero Law Courts on Tuesday.

The suspect denied four counts of defilement and indecent assault.

He was released on a Ksh. 200,000 bail for each of the four counts.

Local activists in Nyando led by Caren Omanga have raised alarm over increasing cases of teachers abusing students.
