Do not vote back Governor Ruto – DP Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto has renewed rivalry with his fierce critic Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, urging area residents not to re-elect the vocal Governor.

Ruto, who was speaking at Ndanai market in Sotik Constituency, during a voter mobilization tour warned the residents against being trapped into voting in candidates from other parties other than Jubilee Party.

The DP, who was intensifying campaigns to enlist voters during the ongoing mass registration exercise across the country, also urged Bomet residents to register in large numbers to enable Jubilee government retain power come August 8.

“You have an obligation and responsibility to participate in elections so that you elect leaders of your choice who can take the country to the next level in terms of development,” said Ruto.

Ruto was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary, Charles Keter, deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Joyce Laboso, Kericho Governor, Paul Chepkwony, MPs Justice Kemei (Sogowet), Joseph Limo (Kipkelion East), Ronald Tonui (Bomet Central), Paul Bii (Chepalungu), Cecily Ngetich (Women Rep Bomet), Bernard Bett (Bomet East), Justice Kemei (Soin/Sigowett), Benjamin Lagat (Ainamoi), Sammy Koech (Konoin), Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho) and Wilfred Lesan (Bomet).

Ruto who also toured Bomet, Kericho and Nandi Counties during the second-day visit of Rift Valley, Nyanza and Western regions urged Kenyans not to run away from their responsibility of electing leaders who can spearhead the much-needed development and unity efforts in the country.

“As Kenyans you cannot run away from the responsibility of participating in electing a Government that has the interest of the country at heart.”

The DP further pledged that the Government would ensure Kenyans engage in peaceful and credible elections.
