Do you know him? Police release CCTV footage of suspect in Latema Road explosion

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday appealed to the public for help in identifying a suspect in connection with the Latema road explosion.

The DCI produced CCTV footage showing the suspect dressed in black walking through the streets while carrying a package on the right hand.

Detectives investigating the incident have now appealed to anyone with information on the suspects identity to contact the DCI headquarters on 0729999988 or via email at atpukenya@yahoo.com.

The explosion, which occurred on January 26, 2019 on Latema Road along Tom Mboya Street in the Nairobi Central Business District, left two people injured.

Reports from the scene indicated that a middle-aged man had procured the help of a cart-puller to carry an unidentified package across the city.

The two walked together up to the junction between Latema road and Tom Mboya street where the stranger reportedly claimed to have forgotten his Identity Card at a shop across the street and excused himself to go back get it.

The improvised explosive device went off moments later with shrapnel hurting the cart-puller on the arm and injuring a newspaper vendor on the foot.
