Doctor in MP Mwiti’s Rape Saga Charged for Operating Without Licence

Mwangi Muchiri appeared before Kibra Court before Senior Principal Magistrate Lucas Onyina on Monday alongside his employee to answer to charges of operating a pharmacy without proper clearance.

It is reported that the doctor and his employee operated the Fig Tree Medical Centre Clinic at Ngara in Nairobi without the approval of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

The two were also charged with practicing without a licence. The clinic has since been closed.

They were released on a Sh100,000 bond each. The case will be heard on June 21, 2015.

Muchiri is alleged to have taken a blood sample and conducted tests on the alleged rape victim before she was allegedly raped.
