Donkey Thieves Arrested In Tana River

The two were arrested by Administration Police officers led by the local chief at the Tana River Bridge following a tip off from the members of the public.

According to the area chief, Abdalla Ali Jillow, the suspects were headed to unknown destination to slaughtered a stolen donkey and sell it to unsuspecting consumers.

The owner of the donkey, Dekkow Abdullahi, said two other donkeys were missing and he suspected the two arrested could have either sold or slaughtered them.

Mororo slums have most recently been in the news after hyena and warthog meat were found being sold to unsuspecting consumers.

The two are expected to be arraigned in court immediately the investigations are over.
