Don’t bash Raila for unearthing scandals, Uhuru told

A section of political leaders from Nyanza have criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta for attacking  Coalitions for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga, over claims of rampant corruption in the Jubilee government.

Led by Homa Bay politician Sammy Wakiaga, the leaders defended  Raila saying that by constantly revealing the grafts in the Jubilee government, he was only doing more good than harm to the President.

He added that the former Prime Minister was only reminding the Jubilee government of where they are going wrong, and that these sentiments should not warrant any insults from the President.

“Raila Odinga has only been raising mistakes on issues of national importance and those which the President could rectify instead of tongue-lashing against the Opposition boss,” said Wakiaga.

The Homabay politician challenged Uhuru to crack the whip on corrupt officials within his administration.

“Raila Odinga is a whistleblower and the president should act quickly on the scandals that have come up. Let him kick out the corrupt officials hiding behind his government,” said Wakiaga.

Wakiaga, who has since declared interest in the Homa Bay County gubernatorial seat, made the remarks during a fundraising in Bondo constituency where nominated MP Dr. Oburu Oginga petitioned the President to stop the controversial water projects in Murang’a and Nakuru counties.
