Dont vote for defectors Nakuru residents told

Nakuru Deputy Governor, Joseph Ruto, has warned voter against electing leaders who have defected to other parties.

Speaking to Chamgei Fm on Thursday, September 29, Ruto said that leaders who hop from one party to the other show that they have no sense of direction politically and cannot be entrusted with the resources allocated to different units of development.

“Voting is not like a football match where a team from region A is selected to play a team from region B and a return leg follows. It is a game of numbers, if you are beaten, you accept and move on,” he said.

“If you lose to your opponent, please wait for five years and give it a shot again.”

He added: “A seat is a very important thing and it has many benefits, so let’s not deviate. You must vote knowing where your vote is going.”

The deputy governor spoke after the former Chairman of National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), Lee Kinyanjui, declared his bid to run for the Nakuru gubernatorial seat.

Ruto was speaking during the opening of Early Childhood Development Schools in Ketitui, Simotwet, Tebeswet and Tuiyobei.
