Doors are shut as polls in Ohio close

A polling station in Youngstown, Ohio, closed its doors just after 33:30am Kenya time on Wednesday morning in the key battleground state.

Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton scored early victories in their bitter presidential race, with Trump winning as expected in conservative Kentucky and Indiana while Clinton captured Vermont.

The early victories for both candidates in the three states were long predicted but not especially significant in a national race where opinion polls show Clinton has an edge.
