Deputy President William Ruto on Friday poked fun at his political rival and ODM leader Raila Odinga, saying that he was behind the former Prime Minister political success.

Speaking during a hustler nation empowerment blitz in Busia, DP Ruto said Raila’s career had blossomed courtesy of his support.

He took a quick trip down the memory lane, saying that had put his life on the line including risking getting incarcerated by the International Criminal Court (ICC) after supporting Raila during the 2007 polls.

“I’m asking you, I’m I not the one who pushed Agwambo until he became Prime Minister? Was I not taken to The Hague and almost got jailed? Was I not the one who pushed him to become Prime Minister?” the second-in-command posed.

According to DP Ruto, rain had started pounding the former Premier immediately they terminated their friendship.

“Ever since I stopped pushing him, have you seen him get any other seat? Has he not been reduced to a person who just loiters?” DP Ruto asked.

At the same time he scoffed at the Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula line-up, saying the trio had not helped the ODM leader make any political progress.

“When I left Agwambo to Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula, did they help him get any seat? Are they not useless people?” he added.
