DP Ruto asks the Church to pray for Kenya

Deputy president William Ruto has asked the church to pray for the country.

Speaking at the Kericho Teachers Training College grounds during the consecration of Kericho Diocese Bishop Alfred Rotich.

At the same time, the second-in-command asked the church to rectify the leaders and straighten them whenever they go astray.

He said under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta, they will ensure that all Kenyans are united.

On matters Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) the DP said every Kenyan has a right to be heard irrespective of their political affiliation.

He was accompanied by the Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen who asked the church to guide the country in following the right path.

Murkomen said leaders were striving for a united country devoid of political selfishness and dishonesty.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa who was also in attendance said some leaders had been intimidated over their political and at the same time asked politicians to retire once their terms in office expired.

Other leaders present were Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony, his Nandi and Bomet counterparts Stephen Sang and Hillary Barchok, Senators Aaron Cheruiyot(Kericho), Christopher Langat(Bomet) MPs from Kericho and Bomet counties.
