Ruto had appointment with Moi, MP says

Soy MP Caleb Kositany has said Deputy President William Ruto had scheduled a meeting with retired Head of State Daniel Arap Moi.

According to the lawmaker, Energy CS Charles Keter and Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut sought an appointment for the Kabarak meeting and their request was accepted.

The meeting with the former Head of State was then scheduled for 11am, he said in response to claims that the DP ‘sneaked’ into Kabarak.

The Soy member of Parliament added that it is procedural for government officials seeking audience with Mr. Moi to book an appointment and the DP could not have appeared without one.

He alleged that it was absurd for Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to deny Mr. Ruto the visit.

The MP demanded that the Senator issued an apology to the Deputy President, saying it was a shameful move.

He further intimated that he and other leaders from the region are seeking advice from Kalenjin elders on their next move.
