DP Ruto reaches out to Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula

Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday asked Opposition leaders not to take hard-line stance against their leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking at Njoro Anglican Inland Church in Nakuru County, Ruto said the meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr. Odinga last Friday should not be criticized, saying it was for the common good of the country.

The Deputy President asked National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula to play a leading role in the country’s unity process and the transformation agenda.

“After the 2013 election, many people did not believe that Kenyans can set their political differences aside and work together. Even when President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga there are those who could not believe it,” said Ruto.

“We are urging the other opposition leaders who are yet to join us in the unity process to do so for the sake of the country,”the DP added.

Ruto said the journey the Jubilee administration began in 2013 to unite Kenyans has been boosted following the meeting between the President and Mr. Odinga.

DP Ruto said the Jubilee government was ready to work with all leaders with the aim of transforming the country.

The Deputy President was accompanied by Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui, his Nyandarua County Counterpart Francis Kimemia, MPs Susan Kihika, Kuria Kimani Mpuri Aburi among other leaders.
