DPP gazettes Murgor, Taib and Kihara as special prosecutors

Three high profile applicants have been gazetted and will provide special legal services to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The DPP said Philip Murgor, Taib Ali Taib and James Kihara will serve as special prosecutors for two years.

“Only the three were successful. The responses were not as expected and, therefore, the DPP will advertise again in order to build a strong portfolio of special prosecutors to assist the ODPP,” DPP Noordin Haji said.

The positions were advertised in September last year.

Murgor served as former DPP in 2002.

Taib is ex-mayor of Mombasa and has practiced law for over 25 years.

Kihara is an advocate of the High Court.
