Drama as drunken cop beats up Embu residents

Drama unfolded at Kianjokoma town, Embu County, after a drunken Administration Police officer turned violent and started beating up area residents.

The officer is said to have gotten drunk while still in full uniform and left behind his gun, prompting his colleagues to collect it.

Benson Muchangi, a resident of the area, told Citizen Digital that the officer was drinking in one the bars within the town before he started harassing residents going about their activities.

Muchangi claimed that the officer attacked an elderly man with a wooden plunk before residents got tired of his antics and started roughing him up.

Police officers from Manyatta arrived during the ensuing scuffle and intervened, whisking the drunken cop away as residents remained baying for his blood.

Confirming the incident, Embu North sub-county Administration Commandant said the officer had been arraigned before his seniors at the county administration police headquarters.

The police boss said the officer would be disciplined in line with the police service regulations.
