Drama As Funeral Service Is Stopped

The burial ceremony of the late Margaret Jepchirchir could not proceed after the deceased’s co-wife went to court accusing Jepchirchir of illegally owning the piece of land.

 

The deceased could not be buried at Silver Inn Estate in Kapsabet on the grounds that the land does not belong to her

 

The mourners however maintained that the land the deceased was to be buried on belonged to her.

 

Soil was slowly by slowly returned to the grave, with 4 bricks being buried in the grave to symbolise the deceased’s spirit.

 

The disgruntled mourners were forced to take the body away to Moiben for burial at Jepchirchir’s rural home.

 

The deceased is reported to have died following a short illness.

 

Witness’ of the land sale maintained that the land belonged to the deceased and have vowed to testify in court.
