Drama as Lands Registrar Locks Self in Office to Sign Leases

Ms Mwendwa had been barred from signing leases after her name was included in the list of state officials implicated in corruption released by President Uhuru Kenyatta during his state of the nation address.

Efforts by land commissioners, led by chairman Muhammad Swazuri, to gain entry into the office have been futile.

Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission officials are expected shortly to break the door.
